Good cheap eats, full plates, the best ginger-tahini dressing ever. I usually get the hijiki tofu dinner plate - a fried ball of tofu with brown rice, japanese bbq gravy, and salad with that amazing tahini dressing Ive already mentioned.

A mysterious storefront has been erected on St Marks place, a few doors down from the now rentable Dojo. The new space has all of the trappings of a new pizza joint (please strain your eyes to notice the soda fountain in the back right of the pic) except that it is exceptionally small. This could m... Paparazzi not welcome.Photo courtesy PinkberryA new Pinkberry is opening in the old Dojo space on St. Marks between Second and Third avenues today, which is great for everyone except Very Berry a few doors down. But may we ask what’s up with the “PHOTOGRAPHY IS PROHIBITED” sticker in the window? Gi... Read More

BBQ Chicken, the Korean fried chicken chain, remains dark at the Saint Marks location. When we asked Andy Pan, who owns TKettle and has "partnered" with BBQ Chicken at this joint location, about it on Friday, all he could say was "It's killing me softly." Seriously, that's what h... Read More

I met Celest at Think, one of our favorite casual meet-up spots, for coffee on Saturday afternoon. I wanted to finally see her photos and get the details on her Parisian adventure; she needed to hear the latest on the Italiano (good: he helped me through a recent mouse-spotting crisis at my house/ ...
