| | | | ...Definitely still a special occasion destination. Food, ambience, presentation and service were top notch. It is a humbler version of his first NYC restaurant Alain Ducasse at the Essex House because it did not have the bells and whistle it had - the little goodie bag with a take-home sample to eat for snack or breakfast, and a copy of the French Fine Hotels book to the cart of assorted cheese and homemade candies which definitely was an elegant and pampered lifestyle. Nevertheless, adour is beautifully nested in elegance and formal setting. It is priced better with a choice of a la carte or prix-fixe menu which offers a wider variety for diners. In a way it's comforting to be able to return more often to dine at such a restaurant without being obligated to have only a prix-fixe menu. Without a doubt, this restaurant will be more popular. |
